| This one was built as a Southern Pacific SD45. I was surprised to learn that CP ever purchased U.S.-built EMD locomotives secondhand. For a long time I thought they were all either built by GMD in London, Ont. or were merger acquisitions (such as the Soo Line locomotives). |
