SF Muni PCC Car 1053
Title:  SF Muni PCC Car 1053
Description:  San Francisco MUNI "F-Line" Streetcar 1053 is painted to honor Brooklyn, which ran PCC streetcars from 1936 to 1956. Built in 1947 by the St. Louis Car Company for Philadelphia as car No. 7271, this car was acquired by Muni from SEPTA in 1992. The trolleys left Brooklyn in 1956, one year ahead of the baseball team named for them. Brooklyn PCCs sported two unusual paint schemes. The original was called pachyderm gray, almost coppery in the sun, with a scarlet stripe under the windows. In 1946, after the City of New York took over the operation, this light green and silver livery replaced it.

Painted to Honor Philadelphia, No. 1060 was built in 1947 by the St. Louis Car Company for Philadelphia as car No. 2715 and was acquired by SF Muni from SEPTA in 1992. One of the actual Newark PCCs acquired by Muni in 2003with Market Street Railway's supportwill be painted in the historic livery previously worn by No. 1060.

SF Muni PCC Car 1062
Title:  SF Muni PCC Car 1062
Description:  San Francisco Muni "F-Line" PCC Car 1062 rolls along the Embarcadero. Built in 1948 by the St. Louis Car Company for Philadelphia as car No. 2101, this streetcar is painted in the livery of Louisville Railway Company, which bought but never actually ran PCC streetcars. After buying 15 PCCs in 1946, the Louisville company lost its nerve, opting for buses and selling the cars to Clevelandstill new. Several other US transit operators, including New Orleans and the East Bays Key System, considered PCCs but couldnt afford them. Car No. 1062 represents all the cities that might have been PCC territory.
