| Description: |
Between June and December 1988 VMV Enterprises in Paducah, Kentucky rebuilt 18 old SD units into SD40-2's for the National Railways of Mexico. The first four were remanufactured from former Missouri Pacific SD40's, while all of the others were originally SD45's from the Southern, N&W, SP and UP. All of the units were interchanged from the Illinois Central Gulf/IC to the Southern Pacific at New Orleans, on their way from Kentucky to Mexico. NdeM 13073 was originally N&W 1796, and was photographed at Mays Yard. |
