Power accumulates in the KCS locomotive setout track at Wade, AR. KCS SD70ACe 4170 was the rear DP unit on southbound crude oil train OKCBR25. Here we see KCS Welsh coal train CKCWE26 setting out two of its rear three DPUs, UP AC44CW6350 and UP AC44CW 6680 on top of the KCS 4170. This train required a 2x3 DPU configuration to get over Rich Mountain. From this point on the extra horsepower is not needed so the train will run 2x1. |
